#667 Murray, Male, 5 Years Old
Hello I am Murray! I came to BCRR when a farmer out in the Texas Panhandle found me out in the middle of a wheat field. Judging by the condition I was in when found, my foster family believe I had been on a long term survival adventure that would command the respect of even Bear Grylls.
Murray is gaining weight and has gone from a skeletal 35 pounds to 49 pounds of lean and healthy during his stay in his foster home! His coat is also starting to transform from straw like to soft and silky! He has much improved from his dumpster diving ways since rescue, but he still feels compelled to grab a free meal if it is sitting within reach on the counter. He does great in his crate, loves children and gets along perfectly well with both male and female border collies in the house. Murray does sometimes jump up when excited, so would probably do best with children over 6 years old. He did not however, get along with the sheep at the farmer’s home, although this could have been due to survival mode at the time, it would be best for Murray to go to a home without livestock.
Murray has a sweet temperament and is eager to please. It is estimated that he is around 5 years old, so past all the puppy destruction with many happy years ahead. We are currently working on learning basic commands and house manners. He has his “sit” and working on “down” and has much improved on- leash to the point where he very much looks forward to morning walks! Murray is currently ready for adoption, so please get your applications in now and give this sweet survivalist adventurer a home for the Holidays!
