#680 Addie, Female, 4 Years Old
Addie is a shy, sweet, border collie mix. She is around 4 years old, 41lbs, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on her shots. Addie came to us injured and in a lot of pain. She had gotten her back leg caught in a trap and had gone several weeks without medical attention. We took her to the vet immediately, but unfortunately, it was too late to save her back right leg.
She has recovered from surgery and is getting along very well on three legs. She loves long walks and running around the back yard. Addie is not yet comfortable climbing many stairs and would do best in a home with only a few steps.
Addie is a quick learner and has adjusted well to being an indoor dog. She is not interested in playing with toys but has discovered she likes chewing on bones. She is a little afraid of men and would need someone with patience as she learns to trust the men in the family. She loves to be near her humans and will follow them everywhere. She is happy just to lay near you.
We have another foster dog and cat and Addie gets along with both, however, she has strong herding instincts and will chase and nip at them when they run. Because of this, we think Addie would be best as the only dog in the family and in a home with older children. Addie has had a rough first few years and is looking for a family she can love and who will love her forever.
