#872 Skeeter, Male, 2 Years Old
I didn’t always have a good life and I’m thankful that Border Collie Rescue and Rehab help me be the good boy I am today. I love to have fun. I love running free, being outside and recently I’ve started enjoying going on truck rides. I live with chickens and horses. I really don’t pay much attention to them. I get along with all dogs big and small.
With all my good looks comes a price!
I know I’m handsome but I’m a very sensitive boy. I don’t do well with loud sounds, harsh tones or a busy environment. I avoid getting into trouble at all cost. When I am inside I’m very shy and prefer to find a quiet place to lay but I always find my way back to the couch to lay with my foster mom at the end of the day. I am not food or toy motivated. I don’t like taking treats from your hand and would rather just not eat it. I am getting better and trying to learn to be more confident but it’s taking a little time. I find my comfort in other dogs! I love my foster bothers and I follow them where ever they go.
My ideal home is somewhere that has more than one dog. It is important for my future family to know I get stressed out easily. I get intimidated by dogs who are dominant or get in my face and I do hold a grudge. I remember things that scares me or makes me nervous and will shut down. I’m very laid back and easy going. I need to be in a home with other dogs who are friendly, confident and like to run! I will not do well in a apartment or in a home with young children. I need a home with experienced humans who can be patient and understanding with me and allow me some time to come out of my shell. I’m not the cuddle or velcro type dog. The good news is the longer you spend with me you will see my true personality. I love to be active. I tell all my friends a happy dog is a tired dog! Going for a swim in the pond, playing chase, running, exploring, and being with friends. It’s the best!! I’ve realized that all humans are not bad and life is better with my soft bed and the best of friends.
I am being fostered outside of Houston, TX and will be available for adoption soon. Please understand my foster momma wants me to have the best life possible! Maybe that’s you!! If you would like to know more about me or my story, please send the people at Border Collie Rescue & Rehab a message.
